Hi,
I'm coming back to my migration from ST to Hubitat, and reading up I found this:
https://docs.hubitat.com/index.php?title=Z-Wave_Manual#Z-Wave_Learn_Mode
Which kind of suggests I ought to be able to join the Hubitat to ST and have it port the Z wave devices over.
Can this really be true? I have many devices, lots of which are in the wall without switches so a pain to exclude and rejoin, however the fact that I've not seen a mention of this in all of the ST migration threads suggests that it won't work.
Anyone?
Thanks
James
The first line in the section you linked to notes:
NOTE : As of Hubitat Elevation platform release 2.2.5 , the hub cannot be utilized as secondary controller for the purpose of migrating devices from a primary controller to Hubitat Elevation.
Current hub firmware is 2.2.8, and if you bought yours recently, it will likely be on something close to that (or automatically update as part of the initial install; I'm not sure how this works nowadays other than that it comes with something pre-installed, unlike early hubs). So, officially, the answer is no. Whether you can unofficially make it work if you try may be another story, though the fact that you haven't seen anyone mention it anywhere is not promising. The other half of this would be needing to "promote" Hubitat to the primary controller, which I don't see a way to do, so perhaps that is part of the problem.
thanks - that makes sense! (shame though)
