User Interface design for the Device page

Hello,

The recenet updates have changed the lauout and design on User interface, most of them are ok and makes working with the UI more efficient compared to older revisopns.

For the device page, there is a big user behaviour issue which is location of the Remove & Disable buttons (See 1) . In any UI design patterns these category of buttons are almost loated to left od screen and OK and close are located to the right. This pattern are seen in any dialogs in all operationg systems and applications.

Users are used to click on buttons on the right of the window/dialog almost without thinking when closing and saving.

I would suggest to move the Remove and Disable button away to the other side (see 2) as their current location is best served as Close. OK or similar buttons. (See 3)

I have attached a snapshot, just in case.

Also in general, while this UI is ok, I think Hubitat is now mature enough that you can come up with more modern User interface. There are many packages also avilable that can serve the purpose.

And finally, thank you for all your efforts ab=nd creating such a greate product.

Cheers

They could sell a thousand times more devices if they had a GUI front end that was intuitive, powerful and productive. As it is, only a niche hobbyist market is targeted. There should be an open source avenue if Hubitat can't do it themselves. Quality and capability of sigbee and zwave devices has improved drastically while hub performance is still very limited, mostly due to usability.

Hubitat isn’t an open-source project.
