Ladies and Gentlemen: The Retired Viking wants to try something.
Hub: Hubitat C-8 Pro
The Situation: Others may have better luck with them, but I am not exactly pleased with the remote sensors offered by Ecobee. I have tried both kinds over the years, and even the “improved” one senses motion when it jolly well pleases. They just aren’t reliable. That, and when one is asleep, one doesn’t move enough to keep it reading as “Occupied”.
What I Want to Try: I bought an Aqara FP300 presence sensor to do some experimenting, but it then occurred to me that there may be a way to use it in lieu of the one from Ecobee. The FP300 has both temp detection and the far-more-desirable presence detection.
I have seen the thermostat app for Hubitat but have never tried it.
The Question: Is there a tutorial that would show me how to ditch Ecobee’s cloud connection, and then use non-Ecobee sensors to accomplish what I want to do/try?
Thanks in advance!
