The reason for my question about AWS, the C8 replies to a ping from the cisco router on local network, (per IT support), and im still getting text alarm from the C8, but i can not get into the C8 remotely,
Im waiting on IT to do a ip trace route and get back to me as im remotely located form C8
If IT can shut down and then turn back on the ethernet port the hub is connected to, that will probably fix it for now.
Using the community Hub Info driver there is a way you can setup a cloud check, and then if that fails you can use it to trigger an automatic reboot with RM.
Is the C8 ethernet channel or ethernet driver a known issue causing this? I always like to know why we have to add all these reboot logic and checks to keep the hubitat hardware online with the network.
Is this a known issue?
Btw, thanks for your support
It happens to a few people here and there, seems to be a small percentage.
IT rebooted the cisco router, the C8 was reachable remotely as soon as the router came back online. I did not have to reboot the C8.
C8 appeared to be healthy, the memory was good, and it was still communicating to all the sensor.
I'm just reporting this to help other if they have the same issue

Sometimes enterprise-grade network gear doesn’t like to play nice with Ethernet-connected gadgets like Hubitat that are usually used by consumers at home.
Sounds like you’re using Hubitat in a corporate environment?

Cisco makes consumer gear (re linksys)..
It's a condo facility with a HOA, the HOA hires a outside service provider which manages the internet. And they control the network.
We finally fifured out the wifi was the issue and hardwired the C8 direct into the network and now having it somewhat solid. We one had one issue in 3 weeks, and had to cycle the ethernet port to the C8, if it happens again, I will get with IT and see what we need to do to resolve the issue

That sounds like a nightmare...
How did you do that? That said, do you have a router or is it simply plug in to an ethernet port and the HOA manages the NAT?

Our condo has a managed switch in the communication panel, (each condo has the same setup, 178 condos) the field support tech worked with me and allowed us to plug a CAT5 cable between the C8 and the managed switch. IT remotely can control the ethernet ports.
When the C8 was not accessible from the public side, we figured out it was the network itself, IT cycled the port to the C8, with in seconds it was back online

Glad to hear you may have identified the underlying issue. An Ethernet connection for a device like Hubitat is almost always preferable, unless it’s just not feasible in a given environment.
Cisco got out of consumer networking in 2013 when they sold Linksys to Belkin. Close friend works for Cisco. Then in 2018 Belkin sold Linksys to Foxconn.

Is there a URL to include the rebuild command with the reboot, or will this one do that automatically if I've selected 'rebuild' once while doing a manual reboot on the hub?
/hub/rebuildDatabaseAndReboot
If you are on HE >=2.3.7.14
