Upload to File Manager Remotely

Hi Folks,

Can files be uploaded to the File Manager from the remote access? I tried but the file physically doesn't upload. No errors or anything.

I gave it a try and am getting an error:

@bobbyD, should this work?

Added uploads and downloads to the to-do list. There will probably be a file size limit.

If drivers / apps can be considered remote, that would be great :wink:

thanks for the awesome information.

@gopher.ny did this ever make it off the to-do list and put in the done pile?
:sweat_smile: :sweat_smile: :sweat_smile:

It's been in the "forgot about that" pile, and now it's in the "ah, I should do that" pile :slight_smile:

There will be a limit on file size because of the way remote admin is implemented, but yeah, I'll take a look at it sooner rather than later.

Hahaha, I hear ya there, thanks for looking at it!

This turned out to be a simple "flip the switch" sort of a thing, so it should be good to go now.
There's an implicit limit on file size. All requests get processed and zipped, so it's hard to say what exactly is going to get rejected, but it's several MBs.

It works!! I just wanted it to host a few .jpg's. I do a lot of dashboard tinkering remotely. THANKS!

How can I access the files remotely? I would like to be able to send myself a link, Preferably email my self a file.

I have my cameras save a file there and would like to be able to have it send me that file via email or such, the file is over written each time a pic it taken by that camera as to now overload the file manager, so just a line is not great as it will only show me the last one taken. But would use it for now. Would love to see habitat get support for email using our Gmail accounts for sending. and be able to have attachments.

Also how do I access the files locally from like webcore? would like to store audio files for webcore to play on my sonos for my alarm. (Currently hosted on a pi)
