Universal Powerline Bus (UPB) Support

Hi,

I am coming from Iris, SmartThings, and OpenHAB. I have SmartThings and OpenHAB tied together well to handle a number of rules integrating dissimilar systems. One such system is UPB. I use UPB to control all the lights and ceiling fans in my house. It works very well, and with the serial controller connected through OpenHAB, I can control my lights through Google Home and trigger lights to turn on/off based on events from SmartThings devices.

Across many systems, I have always wished that I could find one device/ecosystem to control it all. SmartThings and OpenHAB have gotten me the closest to this goal. However, it would be awesome if one hub could handle it all. I was curious if there was any USB or Serial support on the hub, and if there was a possibility to have UPB support as well?

Maybe you can find an Ethernet to serial that have telnet support.

A one port terminal server should take care of your telnet to serial requirement.

Perhaps something like the following, which supports Telnet. Hubitat would act as a Telnet client and would connect to this device’s Telnet server. You could then exchange ASCII text bi-directionally.
