Around two updates ago, I started seeing failures when updating my two hubs (a. C7 and a C8). I tried the various suggestions on the forum (fixing the port speed, power downs, soft resets, downgrading/upgrading, power cycling etc) - but no go. There have been no changes on my network.
Eventually after main retries I was able to upgrade my C8 but my C7 however, I could not upgrade.
The C7 and C8 sit on an IOT vlan and are plugged in to a Unifi switch, which is connected to a UDM Pro. This has been unchanged for the past couple of years.
In a last ditch attempt to upgrade, I plugged the C7 directly in to the UDM Pro (same vlan, same IP) and hit upgrade - it worked. It is possible that this was a coincidence as I did manage to get the C8 to upgrade after many, many retries over several days - but I have my suspicions.
I've carried out basic diagnostics, looking at latency and for any drop outs in connectivity - but nothing obvious is observed. My internet connection is stable. My devices on my network are also actively monitored via Domotz.
I do notice a slight lag when accessing the UI of hubitat and this has always been the case, anecdotally I can say that I think the UI is a little snappier since it was moved to the UDM Pro but that could simply be improvements to the firmware.
Has anyone experienced such issues? Or have any thoughts as to what to investigate?
