I have a C8 hub running platform 2.4.1.157 and have a problem with hub variables. I think I was trying to create a connector but I must have screwed something up! If I now select Hub Variables on the settings page I get a message saying "Unexpected Error" and the logs show the following.
Do you have any (other) hub variable connectors? If not, there is an easy fix. There's also an easy fix if you do have any but aren't using them in any apps. Anything else is probably going to need you to restore a hub backup from before the time when this started happening or for a specific staff member to see if there is a magic fix. If you just made this change before posting, the hub makes daily early-morning backups by default and should be easy to restore.
I think I have a few hub variables (can't see them now) but only one connector that is used in a couple of apps. It is no issue to remove that connector from those apps and add it back later. Unfortunately this issue is quite old now and I've made a number of updates since then, prefer not to dig through my backups!
I did contact support@hubitat.com and got a "we'll look into it" response but heard no more despite two chaser emails from me.
That account is not monitored. If that is where you sent something, you should have received an auto-reply directing you to appropriate channels.
That's actually easier than the solution I was thinking (though you probably didn't need to delete the actual variable) -- but with only one, it's probably not that different either way. Glad you got something figured out!
Ref the Hubitat Support email. This is the text of what I received.
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to us. The issue you reported has been referred to our engineering team and we will reach out to you if additional details about this incident are needed.
If you have not already done so, we recommend searching our online community at community.hubitat.com for similar issues, as there may be a community solution that you can use until an official fix is released.
Thank you,
That does suggest they will act on it. If it is an unmonitored inbox they should say so.
@bertabcd1234 or any of the other super specialists?
I have the same problem, I setup a hub variable and was working wis webCoRE and now I cannot get into the section hub variable anymore. I get an unexpected error message and and the error messages in the log
Have the same error message and problem, don't understand what I did wrong. What do you mean with delete the connector device and how did you do this if you are not able to get into the hub variable settings?
Thanks
Your error looks different. Unless I'm missing something from your description, I don't see an error on (or near) line 322 mentioned anywhere above, just line 484.
For your problem (line 322), I do have any idea. Were you trying to rename a variable and something went wrong? If so, can you remember what the steps were to reproduce that? (This error shouldn't happen unless you had started a rename.)
A future hub platform is likely to contain a fix, but there is no timeline for that release. If you need a quicker solution, I would suggest restroring a recent backup. Since this problem sounds like it just started for you, it's likely you'll have one available that won't take much work to recover from if you do need to re-do any changes (keep in mind that this will also include webCoRE pistons -- and all hub settings, apps, etc.).
Still not sure about that.
Also, this is the same topic/thread as your post above. Perhaps you just didn't see that; if not, I would simply respond once, combining both replies into a single post using the quote feature to distinguish if needed (although in this case you probably didn't need to) -- next time.
