I have a kwikset connect 620 that I tried to add to my hub and it failed and now I am stuck. When I did the include, it asked for the security code and I added it but it never completed successfully. So the device was red in device and I was unable to exclude. I was able to force remove thedeice but still unable to include. I have a phontom entry in my zwave that I think is messing it all up.

fixed front door, it changed device type on me. Still can;t get 2nd door lock working
If you switch to Z-Wave JS you will find it is better for cleaning ghost devices. You can then switch back to Z-Wave ZIP if you prefer it.
You’ll need to do an exclude on the lock before your try to pair it again. It should all work out fine…
What is hub proximity to the lock? Is it relatively close? Say less than 15’? If you are trying to pair a lock from far away that can be an issue as well. I was able to pair the same lock a few weeks ago from about 20’, not line of sight.
I have no preference, just want it to work. I will have to see what the difference is.
I moved the hub into th esame room. I just switched and trying exclusion now even though device is not in device list

I did see I paired in LR mode but it should work in mesh fine as well.
I think there might be a bug in LR mode where the lock can sometimes fail to report a manual lock state change to the hub. I have seen this a couple times but others say it isn’t a bug in mesh mode. I just haven’t been motivated to swap the lock back to mesh mode.
So mesh mode may in fact be preferred for this lock.
thank you! It paired. I will research on the different modes and see what is best. I will have water devices in basement, so that may be my driving factor
p.s. if you haven’t already, lock code manager (LCM) is a nice app to administer all your codes for the lock. Works well with the 620. It can be installed from the built-in app list under the apps tab.
I did that this morning and it makes it much easier. I did some quick research and it seems like zwaveJS is the proper way to go unless you have some real old devices that will not work on it. The legacy protocol is no longer supported (EOL).
