Tried re-setting switches but still not discoverable with the Hub. Initially thought it was the Zwave switches that I had so purchased a Leviton compatible Zwave plus switch and installed no more than 3 feet from hub. Still no luck pairing. I am thinking I wasted money buying the hub. Originally the switches were paired with a Trane A/C unit controller that was replaced.
At this point ( I am not technically inclined) I would think this is an issue with IP Address but unsure.
Neither z-wave nor zigbee are IP-based protocols. If you can get to the hub's UI to start the include process chances are it is not an IP address issue.
What specific switch and model? You said Leviton compatible, but are they Leviton brand switches? What's the model #? And did you do a z-wave exclude before attempting an include? Usually a reset of the switch has the same effect but it's always a good practice to do an exclusion first.
What zigbee devices are you trying to include?
I should also have asked... is this the first time you've tried pairing a device to the hub? Or do you already have a bunch of devices and you're trying to add some?
If these switches were previously paired with a Zwave Controller, then they will need to either be factory reset or zwave excluded before they will pair with another controller. The hub can do an exclude on the switches even if it wasn't the one they were paired to previously. Same with the zigbee devices.
The Leviton switch is a DZ15S. It is new. Did not pair on first attempt, reset it and tried again with same result. The other switches are GE Enbrighten Zwave which I did the reset on several times without success.
At this point it has not paired to any switch so not sure if the hub has an issue. There is nothing connected to it yet.
Hi -
Sorry you’re having this experience to start with. Can you tell us a few things:
- Where did you get your hub from? Knowing this will help @support_team.
- What region is your hub’s zwave radio set to? You’ll find this under Settings -> Z-Wave.
- Are there any error messages in the Logs? Go to Logs, and then select the Past Logs tab.
Thanks!
I've run into this behavior recently too.
My resolution was to shutdown hub, wait a couple of minutes, power up, try again.
I get the sense the zwave radio sometimes takes a nap, and a power-down is the only way to reset it. (Reboot doesn't do it) Good luck.
