BTW this is day 2 of using Hubitat. Still learning the setup.
I have HSM installed. I have intrusion Night setup to my siren and door contacts. I have a schedule setup in in Mode Manager on when to enable Night Mode on a time schedule. It won't change to night mode from Away.
I also have a rule engine on when the mode is changed to Night lock front door and shut garage and also set HSM to Arm Night.
Now I check my dashboard. I have 2 tiles. One tile for the mode and the second tile for HSM status.
If I change Mode to night, the garage shuts and front door locks. The status of HSM never changes. The status stays at System Disarmed. I open a door contact and nothing happens. No intrusion alerts, no siren.
If I select HSM status and choose arm to night. Nothing happens. If I choose Arm to Away nothing happens.
If I go into HSM and select Arm to night nothing happens.
What int he world am I doing wrong?
Also In HSM I have Arm-Night when mode becomes Night. I have failure alerts setup for my Sonos and it is not announcing anything.
Newb failure. I had a bedroom door that was opened. Some reason that was added as an item to be monitored. I have some failure alerts setup and for some reason that didn't kick in.

Go into mode manager and deselect this option for allowing mode to change to another mode. remove or select a desire restriction.
As for the alarm setting. Can you post some pictures of your HSM?
I figured it out. One of my contact sensors were opened. I viewed the logs and found it.
One of the confusing things is I am able to configure a section called "Configure Alerts for Arming Failures (contacts open)". I configured that and it failed to notify me the contact was open.
In my opinion you should get an alert and it should arm anyway.
Did you have any alerts set up for the arming failure?
This one will absolutely vary from person to person as to what they think it should do. If you just want an alert and for it to arm anyway, don't use this feature of HSM. Instead, use a Rule Machine triggered rule that fires on HSM being armed, and whose condition tests the contact sensors, giving you the alert you want. That way, HSM would still arm and you'd get the alert you want.
The ultimate fix for this is to incorporate the concept of a bypass into HSM, which is on the list of upgrades to do.

Yes I have my failure events setup and they didn't appear to work. See my screenshot.
And yes rule machine is awesome. I have activated alerts with rule machine to notify me the alarm is activated.
