Unable to add Minoston MP22ZD

I have some Minoston outdoor plugs that work fine. But I bought two Minoston outdoor dimmers, and I can't get them added to either of my two hubs. I've tried with both the specific Minoston MP22ZD driver, and with the EVALOGIK driver. I've tried resetting them both.

One thing that stands out: the instructions say to triple-tap the button to get the blue LED to blink. But mine only ever blink white.

Any suggestions as to what I might try?

@rmann , how's the Minoston dimmer working for you? I know it's been a while since your post, but I have been running one of these since sept '22. It is running on the "Generic Z-Wave Plus Dimmer" and for the most part has been working well.

As of today, I still don't see the specific built-in driver in the Hubitat list, but I did find an actual factory driver/firmware on Minoston's website. I think I'll give it a try...what could possibly go wrong?

Gosh, it's been so long, I don't even remember where I was trying to use that.

 So you're saying your memory is dimming? LOL!

@Macguyver - I'm considering a Minostan plug in dimmer, because it is one of the few with a three prong outlet - and I need both the three prong and the plug in dimming. My hardwired outlet is in a difficult to access location (have to get out a ladder, need 2 people, etc.) so I really need to install a reliable device.
Would you install yours in a difficult to access location, or does it need too much attention for that?

This Minoston dimmer plug has been pretty dependable, a few instances of going non-responsive but either healed itself or a reboot of the hub fixed it.
I have yet to install (read 'experiment with') the factory driver available on their website, the one which HE installed and calls out on the compatibility list is the generic Z-wave plus dimmer.

That said I always consider accessibility when installing ANY devices. Mine is under a single story eave - stepladder gets me there in 1 step. If it were on a second floor, I would have likely gone with a drop of conduit to a 2-gang jbox (PVC for radio transparency) in-reach and used the Shelly Dimmer2 or another nano box type dimmer.

I was trivially able to add, but am unable to control, my MP22ZD. It's like 3 meters from my hub and like I said, pairing was a breeze. I've tried v1.0.1 direct from their website and I've also tried Generic Z-Wave Plus Dimmer... what's odd is my device shows "8 Pending Changes" in a "syncStatus" field that I don't recall seeing anywhere else before.

Anyone got ideas about what I could try?

Answering my own question: I realized this device supports security and I paired it through a "pair a new device generic" process, as opposed to telling HE that I was trying to pair a Minoston MP22ZD (which is does, in fact, natively know about).

I force removed the device, the a mfg reset (two quick clicks, quick to third and hold for 10 seconds), then re-paired by telling HE I wanted to add an MP22ZD. This worked quickly, asked it I wanted to use security (which did not happen the earlier time), I chose "no" and it immediately finished pairing and now fully works.

edit: I forgot to mention that I have the custom driver code still installed and I think that automatically got used when I paired this second time.

Hi everyone. I bought a bunch of new Minostan ZW800 dimmers and am finding them difficult and non-responsive. Is there a driver you recommend? Other troubleshooting strategies? My old EvaLink dimmers seemed to be flawless, but I was hoping for more S-P-E-E-D.

My Minoston MP31ZD works with the Minoston Mini Plug Dimmer driver.
Sometimes it is a bit slow to respond, but it does always eventually respond after a few seconds.
As I recall I had to refresh it in my Zwave network a time or two to get it on its optimal routing.

Thanks so much!!!
