UltraPro, 700 Series

This is what I have done, as I explained above.
This is my 'green' rule:

It's predefined as off.

Doesn't matter what it is defined as, if the parameter allows you to set it from 0-7 and my driver detects the valid range as 1-7 then the firmware is incorrectly reporting the range in the parameter info report. It should be responding as 0-7 for the valid range. The driver just asks the device for info and presents what it responds with.

So it sounds like my driver is covering all the bases for you?
I think you said the multi-taps are working too?

Yep.

Yep.

I don't think I'll be implementing the multi-color thing for the time being.
With only 4 switches out of maybe 30, a Christmas theme couldn't be done.

I have two of the newer Zooz 7x switches strategically placed, one in bedroom and one by door to garage. Green means everything is locked, red means unlocked. Works great to confirm before you head out the door that all the other doors are locked!

Great idea. I'll have to troll the forums to see what other ideas I come up with.

Uh oh. I hit configure, and lost control of the switch.

Configure on my driver should not break anything... All it does is probe for everything again.

Unless that one association got wiped out somehow. Looks like Group 3 defaults to having the hub in it (01). Not sure why some devices do this instead of sending it all through association 1 (lifeline).

I might've done that.

edit: Excluded, re-included. Every step after inclusion, I hit on and off a couple times just to see if it still responded. Association not there any more. Still working this morning. Going to try for the next three with your driver as well.

edit2: Second switch came up with the 01 (Hub) in Group 3. I cleared it, hit Configure, it synced but that was it. No control after that. I will say that I went from the Generic driver that it chose, to @JasonJoel 's driver, and then to the Universal driver. I will try going right from the generic driver and see what happens.

edit3: After swapping out in the apps to a virtual switch, exclusion only gives Unknown Z-Wave device excluded. So, have to remove it also via Z-wave and Device pages. I had to do this last night as well.

edit4: Included switch, swapped from Generic to Universal driver, hit Configure, waited til finished, refreshed page, Group 3 association field is blank, switch works. Go figure.

edit5: Swapped apps back in. Works great. Onward to installation of the remaining two switches.

edit6: Done. I got the knack, lol. The four switches I replaced don't lend themselves to color ques, so not using the capability...but it's there! Thanks for the driver @jtp10181.

Thanks for the detailed reply, @velvetfoot. From your photos. it looks like that UltraPro model is not UL listed for Canada. I may have to look into that further.

Do any of the GE/Enbrighten/Jasco/UltraPro switches you have used allow to define the switch status after power failure (ie. on/off/last state) either by design or through @JasonJoel's or @jtp10181's drivers?

No. It's last state.

Do you know if you can turn off local control on the switch? So power is controlled by the hub and the switch only sends commands to the hub?

Yes, you can.

I just tried it based on what @jtp10181 's driver picked up:

Anyone know if the paddle model has multiple colors? nothing mentioned about it.

According to the z-wave JS settings database (Home Assistant) it has a setting for the LED color: Z-Wave JS Config DB Browser

I saw that but it was unclear if that turned off local control or just toggled the relay.

Thanks for giving it a try,

@jtp10181 , I managed to lock it up again.

Experimenting with setting LED intensity.
Changed value. Saved preferences. 1 Pending Change. Configured. Some light color changes, indicating it was doing something; Dead; Reset to factory default behavior with no control.
Tried different drivers but couldn't get any response. Unknown device.

Could I somehow be causing a device factory default reset?
The instruction booklet, again, not very complete, mentions a factory reset, but involves the air gap:
"1. Slide the air gap switch right.
2. While pressing the off (botto) button, push the air gap left and continue pressing the off button. The led flashes through the eight colors once."

I wonder what this (below) means?

The one switch, of the three, I can see from my usual perch and I'm experimenting.

If you changed that setting to 1 and saved, then yes you are probably factory resetting it….

Otherwise could be some sort of a firmware bug.

Did not change...yet.

What I was doing was looking at the device page after changing a parameter and saw "1 pending change" in Current States. So, I figured, hit "Configure" and get rid of it. It turns out the parameters get changed instantly after hitting Save Preferences, as witnessed by refreshing the page. So, the moral for me will be to stay away from the Configure button unless starting out.

I noticed that parameter 35, LED Indicator Intensity, apparently doesn't do anything. Parameter 36, Guidelight Mode Intensity, however does.
