Question about placing two SonOff Zigbee Dongles near each other. Each is on its own hub (both C7). One on channel 20, other on 25, as my hubs are currently set up.
TL;DR: How far apart do I need to place two SonOff dongles that are on different hubs?
I have a perfect spot for them from a location point of view in a kitchen cabinet where I had an outlet installed so long ago that it was there to provide power to my (since retired) land-line phone. These things have very low WAF from an appearance perspective, so hiding them in the cabinet is also very helpfull.
Would it be workable if one was plugged directly into the outlet, and the other was connected to a short extension cord plugged into the other plug in the outlet, with the dongle sitting in the cabinet about 2' away? I could probably orient their antennas in different directions (one upward, one sideways?) if that would help reduce interference.
I have zigbee repeaters for different networks right next to each other - one in one outlet, the other in the other. They've been working fine for 2 years. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Thanks for clarifying, makes sense as they do stick out a lot if plugged into a USB connector pointing outwards.
I'm using a 3-outlet swivel plug that I have moved to point upwards snug against the wall, and will have the two dongles in the two outermost plugs. I have one in place now. The second will go into the right-most plug and it's antenna will point towards the front of the cabinet.
