Tuya (Moes) dimmer does not turn on with Scenes

My Moes/Tuya dimmer will not go ON by the built in Scenes app. The dimmer goes off but will not go on. Has anyone else run into this issue?

Quite frankly, I would toss this thing in the garbage if I could find a non-Tuya dimmer module.

details:
Moes Dimmer module model: MS-105z.
I am using the "Tuya Zigbee dimmer module" driver ver 0.7.0 2024/06/02 kkossev

The dimmer reports:

  • inClusters: 0000,0004,0005,EF00
  • manufacturer: _TZE200_la2c2uo9
  • model: TS0601

The logs captured during Scene "activation" is

Seemingly this device does not turn automatically on when the level is changed... But there is an 'autoOn' preference :

Have you tried it?

Thank you, it seems to work with a test scene. I'll try that with the full scene.

I am glad @kkossev was able to help you with the issue.

Personally, I have found Moes devices to be some of the better Tuya devices available. I have not tried their dimmer as I use Lutron Caseta devices, but I have several other Moes devices and they work well.

My issue with them (Tuya) is the need to be part of their development group (or whatever you call it).

Simply publishing the required information to allow users to create their own drivers seems to be beyond them. I can only think this is done in a effort to make their hub more attractive.

Hardware wise this dimmer seems fine.
