I've asked this of some of the Community solutions I have used while I had my Hue lights connected to my Hue bridge, but now I have all my lights connected to my new C-7, so thought I'd request this from Hubitat....
Background
I have setup a dashboard with each of my Groups devices created by the Groups and Scenes built-in app, representing mostly the different rooms in my home. The thing I love about this setup is that I can setup the groups to detect when even one light is on and show as being "on" on the dashboard and turn the room off. In some rooms, however, I have some overhead lighting like downlights and bulbs in fixtures, but I also have lamps on tables, etc, which I don't want to turn on in all modes, typically overhead lights during Day and Evening modes, with a mixture of overhead but typically lamps during Night mode.
The Request
What I would like is to have is either a default scene per group device that is turned on when the group device is turned on. Alternatively, and ideally, choosing scenes per mode, e.g. on my dashboard I turn on the "Kitchen" group and when I am in Evening mode the downlights and bulbs over my bench turn on, but the lightstrip under the bench and Hue Go lamps remain off, all defined in the "Kitchen - Evening" scene. Come Night time, the Hue Go lamps, lightstrip and bench bulbs are turned on whenever the Kitchen group device is turned on, based on the "Kitchen - Night" scene.
The key aspects of this are:
- A single device can be referenced in a dashboard and show an appropriate status as Group devices currently do
- The Group device acts as the single point of turning lights on/off but behaves differently depending on which mode we are in, whilst still maintaining the proper status
If this can be achieved, happy to look at options... I'm still relatively new in managing lighting on my HE, but am expecting I may need a change to HE functionality or a custom app/driver.
