Troubleshooting Hubitat cloud connectivity issues

Hi,

I've been noticing that the connectivity between my google home speakers and my hubitat drops out regularly.
The error message I get I on the google home is "I'm sorry but I could not reach the Hubitat"

I can fix it by logging on my phone and relinking to hubitat, however eventually it drops out again. The fix while it works it's annoying because I do use voice commands for routines regularly and when it doesn't work it means wasting a few minutes getting my phone and relinking. (Separate question, how do people automate things such as a Movie Routine? I'm wondering in case a voice command is not the best way)

I really don't think the issue is on Google's side because I have a routine that connects to turns on some devices using my SmartThings and turns others on using my Hubitat.
I also don't think it's my wifi network because my google home speakers rarely have issues connecting to my Smartthings(and when they do it's because my Hub has gone offline because of the Samsung cloud, and in that case it fixes itself eventually)
Using my hubitat dashboard on my local netetwork I can control the devices ok, so I believe my zigbee network is ok.

Are there any steps to troubleshoot where exactly the problem could be?

Am I right to assume that my google home connects to Google Cloud using my internet, that in turn connects to the Hubitat Hub which in turn connect to my hub which then sends out commands over Zigbee to my devices?

Thank you very much

I found in another thread to run the voice command "Sync devices"

It syncs my SmartThings and Nest, but then comes up with the following voice error message

"Sorry something went wrong while syncing the hubitat"

Anyone have any idea?

I've emailed support and they got back to me with more questions, however when I replied back with the answers I got back an automated reply to say that I didn't reply to them.
I sent another email but still nothing back from support. Somehow my emails don't seem to be getting through to support.

Just to add more information now, I don't think the issue is anything to do with Google. I've also observed that quite often when I try to load a dashboard via the cloud link I just get "No response from Hub", eventually that fixes itself.
Locally everything seems to be working fine, dashboards load fine locally

Any suggestions from anyone on what debugging what could be wrong with the cloud connectivity?

The cloud connectivity has been stable the last few days.

I'm surprised though that no one has chimed in with any suggestions for debugging.

I'll be a bit more clear with my question then in the hope that the next time it happens I'll be able to get more information. When I notice that my hub is not connected to the Hubitat cloud:

  • is there any debug/ping command I can run on my hubitat to see if there's a connection issue going out
  • Is there any way for me to test from the cloud side that Hubitat Cloud can currently connect to the hub?

Thank you,

Alex
