Trouble with all my battery powered devices

Well it looks like out of the blue all my battery powered devices, buttons, and motion sensors (all ST by the way) stopped working.

I can't refresh them, configure them, or get any data to or from them.

All my wired devices (GE Switches and Peanut's) seem ok as do HTTP devices.

I've rebooted the hub and still no go.

Any ideas on what I should try to troubleshoot?

Thanks!!!

Are they ZigBee devices? If so check under settings and make sure your ZigBee radio is still on. Mine turned off on me for some reason a few weeks back.

Yeah I should have mentioned that... they are all Zigbee... I'll look but since everything else works... like my peanut plugs and other hardwired zigbee devices...doesnt that mean the radio is on still?

I'll look though!!!

Radio was on... but I turned it off and then back on again... now more things seem to not be working... oh boy...

OK my wired devices are back online... maybe it takes awhile to re-establish the mesh?

BUT

All my battery powered devices are still not working...

Ya. If other ZigBee devices still work then that probably isn't it. Was just taking a guess.

You could also force a ZigBee repair by turning it off for 30 mins or so and then turning it back on and let them start to repair the mesh. Will take a while for them to repair though. Sometimes up to a day.

Another thing is to make sure you have the latest firmware.

Weird problem though. I usually hear this more with the Xiaomi devices.

Xiaomi devices? not if connected correctly

@kv1 you likely had some interference in you network that knocked them all off probably caused by you or your neighbors wifi.
What zigbee and wifi channels are you using?
Do you have anything to scan your network with? (such as a Xbee or maybe in your wifi router settings unifi routers have a wifi scanner)

Thanks for the input. My Zigbee radio is on channel 20. Wifi router says "auto" so I dont know what channel it is on.

I am looking into the XBEE... I've seen it mentioned a few times...

It looks like overnight things might have shaped up.. The cat stole one of the sensors off my desk and can't find it but the remaining one and the buttons all around the house seem to work again.

I hate when this sort of intermittent thing happens :frowning:

I've had this happen a time or two. I usually try and wait it out. 24 hours and nothing improves I send a ticket in. It comes with a helpless feeling of "did I change anything?"

Yeah... definitely a disturbing feeling... especially if any automations are somewhat important.

Thanks for the input! Now if I could only find out what the cat did with my one motion sensor... I could see if it is working yet!!! Sheesh.
