Trouble shooting a wired motion sensor

II recently installed a Konnect board to replace an unused 25 year old alarm system. One motion sensor of three isn't working. Anyone know the proper steps in troubleshooting this? If the sensors bad I may simply replace it if the wiring is bad I will replace with a zwave or zigbee device. Thanks in advance

If you have a small length of wire I would try connecting the motion sensor directly to the connect board. (Powering the board down first to avoid any issues for any changes to the connections.
If it has a battery, remove that as well
) If the Motion sensor still does not work, I would temporarily disconnect a working motion sensor from the panel and plug in the non working motion. If it still does not work it sounds like a faulty motion sensor.

Also if it does work when connected with the short length of wire and the original wire is suspect you can test the wire with a continuity tester on a multimeter. Make sure the wire is still disconnected at the panel as well as at the edge (motion sensor disconnected.) Twist 2 of the wires together and then check for continuity. Rinse and repeat with the other two wires.

Just popped open the sensor no power at the power terminal and no continuity at the contact sensors.. thinking bad wire now...

Why would you want to shoot your motion sensor??

Ohhhh,, "troubleshooting". It literally took me a minute :man_facepalming:

This is one of the deficiencies of Konnected it doesn't support 'loop tamper' which would have identified this immediately it happened, using inline and end of line resistors.
