Trouble pairing Smartthing General Purpose Sensor

Hi All,

I am having trouble pairing the ST General purpose sensor (latest model).

It had it connected to ST and excluded it correctly to my knowledge. I hold the pin button down 5 seconds to reset but Hubitat can't seem to find it for the live of it. It's relatively far from the hub, does the other devices relay before it's joined? Since it's stuck on the door frame i'd rather not peel it off.

Also i've been searching the interwebs and cant find the instructions for this sensor (how to excluded/include) for the life of me. Can somebody point me in the right direction? I lost the paper that came with it.

Do you mean the Multipurpose sensor? There are several models. Which one are you having trouble with?

Really sounds like you need a repeater. Move it closer to the hub and see if you can join it. If you can join it close to the hub, but you cannot join it in place, then you need a mains powered repeater to relay the signal between the hub and the device. Other battery powered Zigbee end devices do not relay the signals. Do not rely on Zigbee smart bulbs to relay the signals. You should actually have them off the main hub. Something like a Hue bridge (if your bulbs are compatible) or another Hubitat Elevation hub connected with Hub Mesh (once they're back in stock) is a stable choice.

Sengled bulbs don't try to repeat, so if you only have Sengled smart bulbs (if you have smart bulbs), then they are OK to use without fear of causing mesh issues. They are end devices.
