Trouble connecting Yale Assure lock to Zwave hub

I am trying to discover the lock, have done factory reset, but it will not find the lock..

These instructions from Yale do not work properly: I cannot press 7# then 1# without it asking to reset muy MPC. Anyone?

While the Z-Wave hub is on search (inclusion) mode, follow the steps to add to the network (panel needs to be on inclusion mode):

  1. Enter the MPC followed by the gear/pound. (menu mode)
  2. Press 7, followed by the gear/pound. (module network setting)
  3. Press 1, followed by the gear/pound. (join the network)

What model lock is it? I have read that some zwave locks will only pair at extremely low power so they must be very close to the hub - a few feet. I assume this is for security.
