Trouble completing setup of Meross mss620 using ithinkdancan driver

Hi folks,
I'm new to the community, so I apologize for my ignorance of most things that are smart device related. I successfully added four Meross mini plugs to my Hubitat dashboard and they work as desired. However, I'm having difficulty completing the setup of the Meross 2 channel MSS620 device.
I'm pretty sure I downloaded the correct driver (from 2021-02-03) after which I installed it into the Drivers code area of Hubitat. The configuration of the 2 channel was different than the mini plug in that I am being asked to provide the "Message ID" "Timestamp" and "Sign" instead of the "key." I think I was able to obtain the requested information from my Hoobs log.
The only "success" that I've had is turning "on" channel 1 from an "off" state, two times only. FWIW, I'm able to control both channels from the Meross app and from Hoobs/Homekit.
My goal is to add it to Hubitat Dashboard.
Any assistance would be appreciated. Again, apologies for my lack of coding abilities and general rambling.
Thank you.

Since you already have these plugs in Apple Home, you can import them into Hubitat as such:

  1. Create two virtual switches in Hubitat - call them whatever you want, perhaps "channel-1" and "channel-2"
  2. Expose these to Apple Home via Hubitat's HomeKit integration.
  3. Setup automations in Apple Home to turn on/off "channel-1" and "channel-2" when the Meross devices you have in Home turn on and off.
  4. Also setup automations in Apple Home to turn on/off the Meross devices when "channel-1" and "channel-2" are controlled in Hubitat.
  5. Finally, use "channel-1" and "channel-2" in your Hubitat Dashboard.

BTW, you can also use Apple Home for geofencing/presence in Hubitat using a similar approach. There's a built-in driver called "Virtual Presence with switch" built for that purpose.

Fantastic! Thank you very much for your help...works like a charm :+1:

Sorry for my follow-up question...I have to tap the dashboard icon two times in order for the outlet to change from on to off or from off to on (the taps need to be within a couple of seconds of each other, not long pauses). Is this normal behavior? I did some quick searching regarding double-taps, but I don't think that applies to this situation at all.
Thanks again!

No, it shouldn't be that way, but is my experience as well with other virtual switches and Apple Home.

Got it, not desired behavior, but expected. I can live with that. Thank you for your quick response!

Though I followed all the steps involved in using this driver. Used Http catch to get the "Message ID" "Timestamp" and "Sign"; but I get no response. Any idea what I missed from the log?

It is an older model that is not HomeKit capable.
