Trouble accessing hub settings?

Since this morning I have not been able to access my hub's settings through my browser "Safari cannot open the page". I never encountered this problem before. I tried unplugging to reboot, but same issue persists. I can still access my dashboard to arm and disarm, etc, just not the page where I can check for updates and create rules. Anybody else having this issue? Thanks.

No problems here, mobile safari on iOS 14.

Have you tried accessing the hub using the official Hubitat mobile app?

If you cannot access the hub, but the dashboard is working, check your device connection to make sure it's on the same network as the hub. You might be accessing the cloud dashboard, which works when you are not on the same network.

Thank you for replying.

Yes, and I can access my hub settings through the iPhone app, no problem. While I was there I updated the hub to the latest version to see if that fixes the issue. Thanks.

My device connection has not changed, but just in case I switched to the only other network I use and the problem persists. Thanks for replying.

Are you trying to access the hub via http://hubitat.local/ , or are you typing the IP address? If the latter, try the former - and see as well if you can confirm that the hub’s IP has not changed…

I was trying through the IP address, which I had bookmarked and never touched. The link you included worked just fine. How can I see if the hub's IP address has changed? Also, do you know why it would in the first place? Moving forward can I just access my hub settings through this link from now on or do I need to make any changes to prevent the same thing form happening again? Thanks.

You can bookmark this link and it should work for you going forward.

I suspect that your hub was recently provided a different IP address by your network’s DHCP. This is something that can be prevented on most networks by assigning a fixed IP to a specific device. To do this, you would need to know what device on your network (unrelated to Hubitat, maybe from your internet provider) provides the devices’ addresses. You would then need to setup a fixed address for your Hubitat hub.

Thank you so much for the explanation. I think I understand and I do know how to look up all of the IP addresses assigned to my devices, so when I get a chance I will look up how to set up a fixed IP so it won't happen again. Thinking back, we had a very brief but total blackout a couple of days ago; I wonder if that may have prompted the IP address change? Anyway, thank you for all your help.

When in doubt, go to find.hubitat.com.

Extremely likely! The DHCP reservation suggested by @Sebastien will prevent a change from reoccurring in the future.

Inside the Hubitat Web UI you can also access the Hub details from the Settings page, such as the IP address, MAC address, version, etc. Granted, not much help in this case, just for future reference.
