Hey all, I've tried to research and haven't found much good information, but then again I'm not very good at finding answers like this.
I would like to set up a trigger so that if one of my alarms goes off, the others go off as well. Is this possible in Hubitat? I remember it being possible in SmartThings when I used it a few years ago, but I can't see a way to trigger the others when one goes off. Any Ideas?
I have to make this happen or replace all of the darn things and I realllly don't want to do that.
Are you sure you want to rely on Hubitat for that? If the hub is offline or slow it could take a while or not happen at the worst time. I'd replace all of them with interconnected ones, hardwired would be best but even the wireless ones that are made to do that would be safer.
It's great if you can also get them into Hubitat to be alerted in case something happens when your not home, you could do that with some hardwired ones with something like Konnected to link them or with the First Alert Zigbee ones (although I don't remember if those have the interconnected feature).
You're right, I probably don't want to rely on them. We're being forced to have interconnectivity, which I'm not even sure if I like because it seems like it would make it harder to pin point the threat.
I guess, I'll pay around $200 for some cheap interconnected ones (I need 7 or 8) and then keep a few of My ZCombos around for Alerts when I'm not home and CO monitoring.
With Nest Protects you specify the location for each Smoke/CO detector so when one is triggered they all say the location of the one that detected it. I can't get them connected to Hubitat yet but I do still get remote alerting via WiFi. I've triggered them a handful of times cooking and drilling hardwood plugs and they've worked as expected.
