Tiles all lost their names?

Hi,

I noticed that all my tiles in all my dashboards got screwed up. I did nothing, but faithfullly upgrade when a new version became available.

Is it me, or have anyone else noticed this?

Here is what it looks like now.

Kind Regards, Roger, Norway.

What platform version are you now running?

Hi,
2.3.3.137, Hardware Rev C-5

Created a new with all devices, just to test, and set it up trough autofill. All names came back. So must be something with the very old dashboard that is incompatible. It is at least two years since i created it, so...

Time to start over, I guess!

You could try restoring from a backup prior to upgrading the platform. Or maybe try exporting an re-importing the dashboard?

Also, @bobbyD and the dev team may be interested in some details on this.

Did you turn off either of these by accident?

  • Gear Menu (settings)
  • Options
  • Hide Template/Helper Text

If you go to the Advanced tab in that same window, then CSS, is there anything in the CSS box?

Hi,

That box where not ticked, so it was not that.
The weird thing is that when I tap the tree dots in the corner of the tile, the list of devices is all screwed up. It should list them as lines, but it seems like they are big boxes now and I can’t scroll the list on either cell phone OS( Android or iOS)
It seems like all buttons have lost their devices that where ok before.
Only on this dashboard though.
How do I export one dashboard only?

Actually, I remember now that Exporting Dashboards is either not supported or just doesn't work for some (many of my) dashboards. I think it was one of the exceptions when they brought in the otherwise brilliant feature of App exporting.

For future reference, the process is the same for all Apps that can be exported, including custom one's developed by other Community members:

To export a single dashboard, go to the Apps page and locate the Hubitat Dashboard App, then click on the Cog icon next to the dashboard you are wanting to export. The Status page for the dashboard will open, click on the Export / Clone button at the top of the screen.

Click the Export button and click it again to download the .json file. This file can be used to re-import the "app".

Hi,

Thanks for the great explenation, I manage to Expert it.
But, testing to import it again, on an iPhone, the field selection just flashed and emptied itselves and import was not possible…

I will try on an android and pc.

Unfortunately I wouldn't expect a different result. I am 99% sure that process would be running entirely on the hub. It was only ever a wild guess that the export and import would have any success, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Probably need to get back to working through why you are seeing the issue
