I've got one of the new C-8 hubs that is behaving a C-0 at the moment. In addition to the zigbee issue when I check for updates I see this with the scrolling horizontal shaded line and it just sits there forever with that animation. With my home automation in its borked state this makes me wonder if I would be seeing an update if there was one.
Is it connected to your network correctly, are the DNS settings correct/valid? Just wondering if its not able to connect to or resolve the address that the updater points to...
Not sure. Been working and nothing changed on my network in many months. Always possible that Microsoft has slipped me some sort of bad update. Since it's showing the same issue on wired desktop, wifi laptop and Android phone that would suggest it is not a browser issue since each machine is using a different browser. Also don't have any special anti virus running on the devices. If the C8 was not having such a good ride on the struggle bus at the moment I'd be looking for other causes of the update check not working properly.
You could try pressing the network reset button inside the bottom of the hub - it's a recessed pin type switch so you'll need a paper clip or needle, etc.
Look for the only round hole on the bottom of the hub, it's on the outside row of holes.
That will reset the hub to default network settings so you can try again w/a clean config.
