ThirdReality smart plug 1 of 4 will not pair

Now that the driver has corrected the chatty log issue, I plan to remove a problematic Tuya smart plug and replace it with a ThirdReality smart plug.

These were sold 4 in a box.

3 of the 4 have been working correctly. The fourth has been in a drawer. HE does not see the fourth one. I checked on the ThirdReality website and learned the plug can be switched from Zigbee to Bluetooth. I made sure the plug was in Zigbee mode (red flashing LED) and put the plug about a foot away from the hub. Tried several times, even switching from Zigbee to BT (green flashing LED) and back to Zigbee.

Iā€™m thinking this is defective. Any other ideas?

It is not discovered at all, or the pairing stops on ā€˜initializing the deviceā€¦ā€™ ?

Nothing happens. The app states it is in pairing mode, the red LED on the smart plug is flashing and nothing else. Eventually the pairing will time out.

I canā€™t explain it but the smart plug decided to pair. I left it unplugged overnight, plugged it in this morning and the red LED was flashing. I paired it with no issues.

I was going to use it on the basement refrigerator, but donā€™t trust it quite yet.
