I have three Centralite Pearl thermostats connected to via two-wires so they use batteries. They don't seem to be responding or updating to the hub:
Last Update Time is a few days old. As a thermostat, I would expect it to report its temperature regularly.
From the device page, I use 'Set Heating Setpoint' but the Current States do not change.
In Settings > ZigBee details, I do see their Last Message time is very recent, but why does Last Updated not match?
At one point, they were associated with a Thermostat Controller, but I have since deleted them to troubleshoot. I have also factory reset each one and rejoined.
Am I missing something? It would seem odd for all three to break at the same time and in the same manner.
So when I change the thermostat setpoint in ez dashboard... on one physical dashboard, the event log has an entry indicated the setpoint is changed.
BUT for another physical thermostat, the same action shows no change to the eventlog.
Does this help understand where the issue is?
Does hubitat need to get a confirmation response from the device on a submitted change before it updates the eventlog?
Unclear if hub is at fault in failing to send the command or the device is at fault for failing to respond to the command.
I was able to resolve the issue by simply putting a smartplug near the thermostat so the smartplug acts as a zigbee relay. I guess the zigbee radio of the centralite thermostats is weak compared to other devices.
Too bad the hubitat hardware doesn't support showing the signal strength of collections, which would have been useful to troubleshoot this.
