Winter and summer require different thermostat schedules for me due to changing "peak hours" electricity pricing. I used Thermostat Scheduler to set up my summertime schedule. I want to now pause that schedule until next summer, and create a winter schedule for use now. I can find no way to pause my summer schedule without simply deleting and replacing it, but I'd rather not have to re-create it next summer.
There is no Pause function in Thermostat Scheduler as far as I can tell. Am I missing something?
It is called Hold in Thermostat Scheduler. You can manually set it in the app or there is a hold command in Rule Machine.
Personally, I created a virtual switch called heating season which is turned on or off with a periodic schedule in Rule Machine. I then use that switch as a restriction to disable Thermostat Scheduler.
Thank you. I found the Hold setting, and have applied it to each thermostat.
I think you have a more elegant solution.
As far as I can see, there is currently no way to rename the instances of the Thermostat Scheduler.
Right at the bottom of the page, see screenshot above.
Yes, your more elegant solution does offer a way to change the name. I was referring to the the fact that the app itself, using the Hold feature, does not have a way to change the name.
I'm not sure what you mean.
Two different schedules, Winter and Summer.
Disable Winter when virtual switch is off and disable Summer when on.
Is that what you are trying to achieve?
