Thermostat reporting negative setpoint temperatures

I have been using a Remotec ZTS-110 z-wave thermostat for years, and it has always had this problem. For whatever reason it seems to be impacting house temp more in the last while.

In the dashboard, and devices 'current states' form it occasionally will report a negative number for the thermostatesetpoint value. Usually something like -6.1 or the like. This makes sometimes impacts the actual device/furnace, and sometimes not.

I am using the thermostat scheduler app with a simple 'colder at night' with a slight variation on the weekend approach. Nowhere is it asking for neg temps obviously.

I have to admit my grasp of the schedule programming and the various thermostat state fields are less than solid. Thoughts on where I could be screwing up? Know problems with the driver?
