I created a new thermostat scheduler and thermostat controller and used the same naming convention for both.
However, in the Apps list the Thermostat Controller appends the name of the thermostat being controlled.

That's how it works.
Perhaps its possible to have some insight as to why? I also found/find this strange when I set up this in my house.
It's just the way the app was implemented. Perhaps it should leave off the name of the controlled thermostat when the default name is changed. I will look into that...
This will be in the next release. When you change the default name, whatever you pick will be the name.
Thank you for this, I know its not significant in the grand scheme of things and that things need to be prioritised but its little things like this (and the fast response) that make using the Hubitat a real pleasure.
I've been thinking of making another request relating to the use and set up of Thermostats/Controllers.
The UI of this is a bit complex both in relation to setting it up and also the dashboarding. In my house in many rooms I do not need to Cool as well as Heat but because this is inherent in the screens and the dashboarding it add complexity.
Is it worth asking if its possible for the user to express the desired functionality and for it to only show options in the Controller set up screen and also for the dashboard for the controller to also be simplified?
