It would be extremely useful if there were an option in Sensor Weighting to set a Don't Include Sensor if last update was greater than xxx minutes.
This would quickly fix an issue I am seeing where a rogue temp sensor, zwave or zigbee has stopped reporting through loss of connection, loss of battery or malfunction.
I have at least three sensors per room, usually a zwave a zigbee direct and a Hue to ensure that the room radiator is correctly functioning.
This goes amiss if a Temp sensor stops reporting but the last reading is still counted in the average temp throwing the room heating out.
Any chance that can be included at some undetermined future update?
Maybe, but things start getting very complicated once going down a path like this, and I like to avoid adding more complexity. For example, what should happen if none of the sensors report in that time? While not a likely scenario perhaps, something has to be done in response to that circumstance. What if you need different amounts of time per sensor? Etc.
I think it would make more sense for you to have an app that warns you about a dead sensor, one that has not reported in whatever timeframe...
Ok makes sense.
I can detect a sensor that has not reported and if a sensor is failing - alert me and and suspend the Thermostat Controller to ensure it does not inadvertently demand heat from the boiler indefinitely.
That works, I'll start figuring out how to suspend a Thermostat Controller .
Thanks
Mike
It has Restrictions, one of which is a switch to disable.
