I have found these random Amazon developer 'hunches' to be quite elementary when Alexa randomly asks me.
For example, one day, while having early breakfast with my wife, I ask Alexa for the news briefing, and out of the blue after the news, she proudly announces, "I can turn off your living room lights at sunset, would you like me to do that?" Whaaat, I think and respond to her, "Alexa, do you know that we ALWAYS leave our living room at sunset?". After a few seconds, I think I caught her off guard knowing that she is tracking our every move throughout our house, her response, "That is fine, I will set that hunch up for you"... Whaaat, I quickly say to keep this conversation active, "Alexa, don't do that!", and she tersely responds, "I don't know what you want me to NOT do", OMG Alexa, quit your hunch for the living room, and she so proudly responds, "Do you want me to set up another hunch for your living room?" I now raise my voice to her in defiance and say, "Alexa, just play some music like you are supposed to do and let me make my own decisions about running the house". She thinks for minute while the blue light bar twirls, and says, Playing "2001 A Space odyssey"...
Sometimes, it makes sense for these hunches, and most other times, I laugh, thinking, Alexa having some early basic AI is like oil and water!
"Hal, turn off the pod bay lights at sunset."
"I'm sorry Dave I can't do that."
You see. I'm telling you, it's started already.

I'm waiting for Amazon or Google to allow us to change the wakeup word to 'Hal'
