Text to speech

Good morning.
Just wondering. Is there a devices that does text to speach without internet connection. Somthing that uses zigbee or zwave for connectivity?

Can't claim any experience, but if you have the option, you may also want to open up to options for an "always-on" device like a raspberry pi, NAS or PC / MAC / laptop. I would imagine there may be more options within the rpi / NAS category... But again, can't offer any suggestions, only to investigate it further.

TTS, Sonos & Internet Outages

Yes and no. So HE uses cloud services to create the text to speech. So if the text to speech is new and you do not have internet then no. BUT, HE also caches recent text to speech so if it is something that is commonly announced and is cached then yes it would announce.

The bandwidth of those protocols is insufficient to carry the amount of data needed for speech to be conveyed at a reasonable rate.
