TCL TV Support / Driver

Hi,

I have a TCL TV with Google TV on it. I can control the TV using Alexa (TCL Home app/skill)
Is there a solution to turn on/off TCL tv (or in general Google TVs) from Hubitat ?

Have you tried the Chromecast integration?

I too have a google tv... I use the chromecast integration, mainly to control off/on as you do.

Step 1: Set up chromecast integration on hubitat.

Step 2: Set up rule to initialize it every 5 mins (this prevents google from going to sleep, it does not affect your tv)

Step 4: Create a virtual switch on hubitat that simply does on off

Step 5: Export switch in Google/alexa/homekit to google/alexa/homekit

Step 6: Build rule on google/alexa/homekit when that switch is turned on/off it does so for your tv

Step 7: Build rule on hubitat to turn virtual switch on/off for what ever you want to do to your tv.

I simply have mine attached to my night stand picos so when I shut down the house the tv is automatically turned off.

My hope is in the upcoming beta that @mike.maxwell adds on/off capability to the chromecast integration so we don't have to do this anymore.

ok that seems like a solution.
Though I was looking for a direct integration :frowning:
anyway, thanks...

Well, like I said, hopefully Mike adds it to the chromecast integration in the next beta. There's been talk of it. Overall it works from me 98% of the time. Sometimes the network interface (I'm hard wired) seems to not respond for a couple of mins..

I have a TCL 85QM751G, only because they don't make the ROKU version anymore.

I would do a DHCP reservation for the TV,

Here is what's available

Here is my init rule

Mine is also wired and have DHCP reservation.
So probably it will work with minimum issues. Actually Alexa works fine (although I see 2 separate devices named "Smart TV" and "Smart TV Pro" in Alexa device list)
