Everyone is telling me that tasmota sync and a later version is the way to go but I can't seem to get it to work correctly. I have a new c-7 hub with nothing on it for testing. No matter what I do, if I push the button on the sonoff with the latest tasmota on it, the dashboard show the switch turn on 1 to 2 seconds after I turn it on. further, sometimes it doesn't respond. Now I am sorry if I sound frustrated but how in the world is that better than the old markus http hook that was immediate response and consistent? I have tried everything, read seems like thousands of help guides on this and nothing has fixed it. Are you guys having the same issue but are living with it or is it just me? Any help in figuring this out would be awesome. I have all the latest firmwares and revs. walk me through the set up. I add my tasmota with virtual device and use the Sync tasmota driver for 1 relay. it works but intermittently and inconsistent.
Update: I notice when I switch a few times, the status sometime is no data.

Sounds like that might be normal? Maybe not the best thing to use for a button device then. I have no experience with it so I am not sure if there is way to make it report faster.
Which sonoff device are you using? Also, could you post screenshots of your preferences and device info pages?
In your original post yesterday your main concern was in regard to temperature data. This is a good example where a 1-2 second delay is not an issue and Tasmota Sync would be a good solution.
That is normal and the reporting limit of the software. But the important thing is that the device turns on immediately, it is only the reporting that is delayed. That is a combination most people can live with because they are not looking at their dashboard while physically turning on their device.
If you have read the documentation then you will understand how this can arise and which parameters can be adjusted to tune it for your use.
I didn't write it to be better. I wrote it to allow people to be able to use an off the shelf version of Tasmota without any modifications. For many people that is a compromise worth making. In addition I had 30 Tasmota devices and I did not like all the child devices that Markus had implemented.
There is about 50 pages of documentation so that people can self serve. I'll answer specific questions if you have them.
No Data is a response you will get when either using power monitoring or the universal sensor driver and the STATUSSNS (STATUS 8) response is empty.
Understand these and you will understand the limitations and decide whether your environment can live within them or not.
