Purchased C7 September 2021
Initial learning curve, last few years, running flawlessly
No UPS - Lesson learned I'm afraid - sizing one for next outage
Added to my schedule to go in and apply any updates every quarter
Applied latest update a few days back
Platform version: 2.3.8.134
I've read about outdated platform might need replacing
A couple of days back I had a loss of home power
Noticed yesterday I had lost access to my hub through dashboard
Unsure if issue is outage or update
Checked system, blue light, never turns green
Understand image is up, code is not
Unplugged hub, plugged in, no change on light
I can log into Hubitat website
I can find hub, wow yesterday I could log in, today login is greyed out
When I could log in, it failed to connect with an error I can't state now since it won't let me log in
Something like ERR_FAILED TO CONNECT or something like that
Dashboard - very delayed response - No response from hub
I know IP address, I can ping IP
What I can't do is connect to IP/8080 or 8081 to access Diagnostic Tool (ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED)
I checked 8081 via telnet and it is open
Nothing has changed in my setup, swapped Cat 6, didn't help
Toggled entire setup, router, hub, ie entire power strip
Pressed button on bottom, flashed green, blue, green, blue, stays blue
Doorstop?
Sometimes a bad power supply will degrade the hub enough that it fails to load properly, may want to try swapping out the power block for a known good one. Outside of that: @support_team
Thanks for the response.
Are you speaking about the cord to the hub? I would only have the original, unfortunately. Hub is plugged into a power strip with a multitude of other devices, all working fine. You might have misunderstood; I am going to get a UPS after reading the Hub may fail on power outage. Unsure what you mean by "power block"? If you're speaking Hub power cable, maybe support will send me another to test, or maybe someone can tell me how to test.
He means the block that the USB end of the power cord plugs Into. Do you have an extra phone charger available you can use to at least and see if the adapter is the issue?
For reference something like this
If you cannot reach the diagnostic tool, and have tried another power brick, then I'm afraid your hub is dead.
Any Known good " Power Brick " 2amp is better ..
( might need a Magnifying glass to see what the amperage is )
An old power brick from Samsung phone or Other type of phone might work just fine..
Least likely part of the chain to have problems, but I also always change the USB cable as well when troubleshooting stuff like this, just to be sure.
Oh, cool, wasn't comfortable doing that, but ok, I'd bet with all the plugs I have, I'm bound to have that type of USB end and I have several flavors of power blocks. Learn something new every day, power block eh, sweet. I'm headed to try, back in a bit, bet to order a C8, ho hum, oh and a UPS for sure, what an expensive lesson we had here.
Thanks guys, appreciate the help
No luck, C8 it is
Thanks again for the input
Consider this - cheap as chips and well worth the ease of recovery it provides.
