SwitchBot driver for Roller Shades?

I’ve been using the SwitchBot driver for my SwitchBot Blinds, and they’ve been working great.

Recently, I also got myself their Roller Shades. However, I see that there aren’t any drivers in the SwitchBot Habitat Package manager for Roller Shades.

Has anyone had any success having their Hubitat control SwitchBot’s Roller Shades?

So I found a workaround, which is to create a scene within the SwitchBot app that controls the roller shades, and then executing that scene in Hubitat via Rule Manager rule.

I wrote myself instructions to remind myself in the future if needed. Hope it’s useful to others. Obviously, the prerequisite is to already have the SwitchBotAPI Driver installed in Hubitat and your Switchbot hub already added as a device in Hubitat.

  1. Add the roller shade device to one or more scenes in the SwitchBot app.
  2. In Hubitat, go to the SwitchBot parent device.
    2.1) If you created a new Scene in SwitchBot app, or you changed the name of the Scene, you have to "Refresh" and "Initialize" the parent SwitchBot device in Hubitat.
    2.2) In the "Commands" tab, in the "State Variables" section, "Scenes" subsection, you should see a list of scenes as per the SwitchBot app. Note the "sceneId" string values (looks like "T01-202309211656-50875730") for the scenes you want to control in Hubitat.
  3. Go to the Hubitat Rule you want to control the SwitchBot device and create a new "Action":
    3.1) Action Type: "Set Variable, mode or File, Run Custom Action"
    3.2) Select Which Action: "Run Custom Action"
    3.3) Select capability of action device: "Actuator"
    3.4) Select Actuators to act on: "Switchbot"
    3.5) Select custom command: "executeScene"
    3.6) Click "Add a parameter"
    3.7) Parameter type: "string"
    3.8) String value: Enter the sceneId string value for the scene you want to execute. The value should look like "T01-202309211656-50875730" (without the quotes).
    3.9) Click "Done with Action" and save the Rule.

With a Switchbot Matter hub you could add them as Hubitat devices.

I do have the SwitchBot Hub 2, which is Matter-compatible.

I haven't enabled Matter on either my Hubitat C-8 hub, nor on my SwitchBot Hub 2. Guess I should've tried that, huh?

Does not work for me - I can add the hub, but it does not detect the child devices correctly, at lest for the Hub 3. It detects temperature, humidity, but not a single one of my blind tilt devices.

The last 4 fingerprint are your blind tilt. Tagging @kkossev. He is the one to help you with that.

@TheGerman do you see any errors or warning messages during the discovery process?

Please run a new discovery and copy/paste the logs in a DM to me.

No errors anywhere, but I uninstalled everything a few more times and at some point, it detected the devices correctly and it all is working fine now. Thanks for your time spent on all the drivers/apps you provide!!
