Switch to ZWJS and battery devices are not responding

I thought I would give ZWJS a try to see if things were better in terms of consistent timing/reliability. Not that anything was markedly bad before except the occasional door switch delay to turn on lights etc. Well, all of my battery devices have stopped responding and under zwave details, their status are all marked as pending. Is there something I need to do to get this correct? Another reboot? Please advise.

CLARIFICATION: Not all, but most which is even stranger.

NVM. I found the thread on this issue. I've got way too many battery devices to go around and wake them all up, Switching back to legacy for now.

Perhaps just operating the device would work?

Nope. They don't even show in the logs when activated. After digging in a little more, it has been stated that battery devices that are marked with a status of "Pending" either need to be manually woken up to connect to the JS stack or you have to wait for their normal wake-up time to occur. I've got about 15 battery devices. Until I MUST switch, I'm staying with legacy.

I hear ya. I've had my own share of troubles with zwjs.

It is interesting how YMMV... I know I'm not a stress case on the zwave stack by any stretch, neither by devices nor level of integrations relative to others here .. but for me I've had far more issues with ZIP just for the basic stuff; adding new devices... always a problem for me in ZIP...

Powering down the hub(full remove power..wait, reapply etc) every single time I need to add a device... thats what it took..and was still not guaranteed. {Dear Hubitat, please consider my multiple requests for a true rails down radio reset (without need to pull the plug) in next hardware platform :wink: }

ZWJS has been light years better on that front; not completely trouble free.... but re-interview fixing has been a game changer for any stragglers.

I added a boatload of battery ZWLR devices on ZWJS, mostly without issue.. granted they were new and there's a natural wake as part of the process of adding.

And yeah I have bumped into some ZWJS specific issues; fortunately workarounds have existed so far with info and help from this community... like always.

Yes, YMMV. I for one have had very little bad experience with Zip. A ghost or two that I had to get a zstick to resolve due to me probably. I have no opinion on JS as I don’t have time to get all my battery devices back and current (unless I am forced). All good for now.
