I have 4 UPS' around the house so when the power goes out everything is protected for a short time.
The main PC UPS powers the Hub and when it shuts down the PC it also turns itself off so I need to get the hub Shutdown before that timeline.
I only have a WIFI bridge that will die when the power goes out but it is unreliable when I ping it, sadly.
My brain is lost trying to think of a ZB/ZW or cheap network device I can Ping that will only be used for this purpose.
I have lots of old switches but none are managed.
Quickly emptied the IT storage.
Have 2 older hubs but if they get dumped on a power outage I will get the first ping outage but after that they may get corrupt on a power restore so not reliable.
I have 2 Roborocks that I can ping but they go through WiFi so I really can't trust them 100% either but so far the best bet, reserve a MAC IP and Ping.
Found a static I forgot about, turned out to be my BLE Gateway.
Using that, hopefully it's stable for pings and recovers nicely after a power outage. So far we have had at least 4 issues this winter and usually we get one and it's still online. ![]()
