I'm looking for something I can use as backup if Alexa is down. I have a number of lights that are only controlled by the hub (i.e. no wall switch).
I have a Sonoff button which works well but I would like 4 buttons.
I've looked at the Moes 4 button controller but the reviews complain about poor battery life and blinking lights when battery low.
And the " YIFAN ZigBee Remote" which looks nice with the only complaint being the buttons are too sensitive.
Does anyone have experience with either of these? And is there another one the comes to mind that could be a consideration?
A little frustrating as a Zigbee device with 4 buttons should be very easy to engineer. I'd build on but I lack the ability to create a "professional" looking device.
Picos are awesome remotes. I have them using visor mounts in my car, on end tables, and beside tables. But as you know it does require the Caseta Pro hub.
I've been using these for a couple weeks now and they still report 100% battery. I realize that doesn't actually tell us much about the actual battery used, but no issues so far. I'm very happy with the device so far.
I've been using these Loratap remotes and haven't had any issues with short battery life or such.
I've got the long, thin ones. 1 buttton, 2 button & 4 button.
Were detected immediately as Tuya Scene Switches and I've not had a need to look for any other driver
I looked at the Pico's but passed as I was looking for 4 simple buttons. And having no Caseta devices the hub puts it out of consideration. But thanks for the suggestion.
I have several ZEN34's, and they are great, but really only two buttons. With the advanced driver you can push a button up to 5 times. That can't be easy, lol.
SInce Moe's has at least two four-button controllers, I thought I should clarify the one I was speaking of was TS004F. $25 from Amazon, much cheaper from China. I guess there are 12 combinations (push, double tap, held * 4).
I haven't had an issue with them.
Use them to run lighting routines for the Spouse, she can sit at her spot on the couch and set the lighting to her desired preset.
