Success getting older Fibar devices to report status to HE

If you have a dashboard controlling an old Fibar device, you find the hourglass icon hung after you push a tile. And now you cannot use the button again without going through a lot of drama to reset the device so HE knows it's status.
Well after a lot of time, I was able to rectify this issue and thought I would share it.

In my case I have a FGS223 that would never report status. I could not write any rules or include it in a dashboard as a result. BTW I tried many different driver to which I get the same result. Going into the device in HE I can click refresh a few times until it finally updated it's status ok.

So I did the following;
Create a virtual switch of the device.
Add this rule;

For your dashboard, point tile to the virtual switch to control it.

Here is an example rule I now use with this device;

This works, and now it is the fastest tile on my dashboard in terms of status feedback. Watch your logs and see it working for yourself.

If they are non z-wave plus you should simply need to just install z-wave poller which will poll it for its status

I don't want all that traffic this app creates just for 1 device.

Doesn't create much traffic. Leave it at default polling interval and it will be fine.
