Subscriptions: Hub Protect vs Cloud Backup?

Saw the post about the new $20/year Cloud Backup subscription, that includes Zwave & Zigbee and 10 backups.

What is the difference between this and the existing $30/year Hub Protect? Seems like Hub Protect only includes Zwave and 5 backups, but also offers a warranty on the Hub. Is that the main difference?

Is there a table somewhere that compares all these options???
If you already have Hub Protect but want to add Zigbee backup but keep the warranty on the Hub, do you have to subscribe to both???

Yes. The cloud backup service doesn’t come with a warranty.

Btw, Hub Protect backs up and restores both radios on C-8 and above.

Also, the zigbee radio can be backed up on C-5/7, but not restored to the same model hub. Only to a C-8 or higher.

Same as Hub Protect. Both radios can be backed up. Only the z-wave can be restored to a C-7. Both can be restored to a C-8 or above.

So if I have Hub Protect on a C-7, the C-7 dies, what happens if either:

  1. I want to upgrade to a C-8 to get the zigbee restore
    or
  2. There are no more C-7's available (which I presume is coming...?)

We usually have special upgrade discounts available for our Hub Protect subscribers. If we do not have the same hub model in stock for your replacement, then we will provide a newer model for free, with your Hub Protect subscription.
