Strange zwave behaviour ... zwave logs missing message

I have one zwave device an ecowitt tilt sensor that is working showing open and close but no messages are appearing in the zwave logs.. I was testing the zen16 which is now directly connected to the c8 vs haveing 2-3 hops in the c7 to see how its routes changed during actual usage when i noticed this anomaly..

same thing happened on closing. the sensor shows close.. no zwave event came accross in the zwave logs.

I am having similar issue but haven't noticed any issue so I haven't posted about it. I don't think any of my Z-Wave devices are generating messages in Zwave logs. I haven't kept the logs open long enough to confirm but will now. Almost all of my Zwave devices are passive sensors so there is not a lot of traffic and I can't induce.

Historically only OUTGOING messages from the hub showed up in the zwave logs. Incoming messages did not.

So what you are seeing may be as designed.

I'm with @JasonJoel on that. If you want to see more, turn on debug logging for that device then open a live log while operating the device. Also you should see stuff in the event log when the ecolink wakes up to report battery and whatnot.

Ok but that doesn't solve showing me if the device has no route in the zwave table what it is doing in that regard?

And also not 100% correct, other sensors such as some (not all) of my temp sensors have incoming messages shown...

Here are two..

It appears thar you that for some reason only certain sensors types but not all do, as you say, not have incoming messages shown so maybe its some obscure driver option?

Heres another incoming one.

I don't know for sure.

Only @bcopeland can answer this question, I think.
