Unclear if we have any Wemo experts but I've recently been experiencing some strange things with my Wemo switches and my Hubitat :
(1) I use the Wemo Connect App to search all my Wemo devices - this works fine
(2) After I select my devices, Hubitat creates the devices in its device list..
(3) All is fine for a few days and the wemo switches are behaving correctly through Hubitat and Webcore
(4) For no apparent reason, a Wemo switch goes offline (randomly)
(5) However, Wemo switch is still fully controllable through the Wemo app
(6) The Wemo device needs to be deleted altogether in Hubitat then use Wemo Connect to find it again.
Unclear why my wemo switches are going offline.... but this has only been occurring in the last 2-3 weeks.
I am having the same issue. I thought it was because the wemo devices that were going offline did not have static IP addresses. I corrected that over the weekend by assigning Static IP's to all my wemo's. Today one of my devices went offline again, so that was not the issue. I have 16 wemo devices connected to Hubitat via wemo connect. Until this issue, they have been flawless. The most reliable devices I have connected.
oh man i feel your pain... i have 40 wemo's.. and although i swear at a dozen every day (wemo weird behaviour) i dread to change them. regardless, i find that mine are very temperamental. Yes they work but a good portion of the time its touch-and-go.. usually have to resort to that damn wemo app (which i detest) to help debug the light switches behaviour..
I am having the same issue, with a WeMo insight switch. For years it has worked with WeMo Connect, no issues, then 2 days ago suddenly went offline. I'll go through the delete/rediscover process and see how long that fixes it.
To continue on my earlier post, I went through the delete/rediscover procedure and the switch (connected to a washer) is back online. But I find that the power reporting is not what it used to be. For example: I just tested the power reporting by washing a load of laundry. In HE I can see on the device page and also in dashboards when the power initially goes from 0w to 6w. But after that there's really no reporting of power changes (I confirm this by looking at the tile history) during the washer cycle unless I go to the device page and hit refresh. Then after the end of the cycle, it reports power at 0w about 5 minutes after power actually reached 0. When I look in the HE logs, I see the device going through the refreshing-resubscribing-polling every two minutes although the actual power consumption values aren't updated in HE. WemoConnect had worked perfectly with this insight switch for a couple of years until it went offline last week. Does anyone have a clue why the power reporting would do this or how to fix it?
I have had this same issue now. All of a sudden two of my wemo mini devices just went offline from habitat. I had to uninstall, remove both devices and then install and add them back. I was seeing issues with errors from the drivers and wemo connect. Next time this happens i will take a closer look at it the actual app itself.
kharrison, I feel your pain and anxiety.. I have 40 wemos and lost them all.... Although they are all back , the steps I took were in panic mode and I would'nt necessarily recommend them as I don't know if they helped or hindered resolution.. But this is what I did .
(1) restart the router (since wemo is router/wifi enabled)
(2) restart the hubitat hub
(3) use Wemo connect to "find" and connect the wemo devices. ** This took me a while as Wemo Connect only discovered all 40 devices over the course of an hr !!) **
(4) Once everything was working do a hubitat database backup
(5) Do a hubitat "soft restart"
(6) Do a database restore with the backup in step 4
I also prayed a ton (this is probably the only step that rectified things)
