Well, at least anyone that will allow me to use my existing momentary switches to dim lights up and down?
I've tried the standard (Sunricher?) switches, using only as an input module - They will only do on/off in HE.
I've seen dimmer modules that can do it, but they only have one switch input.
I've seen dedicated contact interfaces with no outputs... But none have HE support.
What I'm trying to do really isn't that exotic... It must be fairly common. I plan to short my existing switches to always on, use smart bulbs or local dimmers. Use a contact interface with existing switches to control the bulbs/dimmers. I think it can be done with Shelly, but I really wanted to do Zigbee...
Does it require two separate switches or are the switches in a 3-way layout?
Just to confirm: You are using a couple smart bulbs, so you just need something that does not control power to them, just recognize when the momentary switch is pressed, correct?
Yes i do this with the sunricher input device. It has 4 inputs, so either does 4 switches or 2 using ON and OFF. The only issues is current the one I have only makes push events. We are waiting for response from sunricher to find out why and how to fix.
Have you specifically found somewhere that they will not work on HE or are you assuming they dont because they are not in any of the compatibility lists?
I bought random ZigBee mini relays off Ali and they work fine. I think they had multi-input models as well but I only needed the outputs for my project.
Well, I tested a few - Sunricher, Nexentro, Vesternet and Hue so far...
Vesternet and Hue have HE support, but couldn't do what I needed.
The Nexentro pushbutton interface was quite expensive, but I could get no response from the button inputs in HE. I've read up on others I've found, and either I find no discussion on Hubitat (and then I assume they wont work), or I find people asking for drivers.
Maybe I should try some Zigbee dimmers from Aliexpress.
I have a few one I'm using is the SR-ZG2833PAC-C4 for the press but like I said it's still not quite there yet Mike was working on it. Until sunricher come back it's just press and no release, so dimming is not possible.
The other one I currently can't find but it's also green power but mains powered however I think it did join to the hub but it definitely also connected to the lamp directly. This is the setup I have else where when the scene plate and lamp is joined to the hub and directly to one another.
So the lights a fully controlled from the scene plate, you can see the state of the lamp from the scene plate in hubitat but can also control the lamp in hubitat.
I'll be super happy just to get a driver working for one of them. Anything that will get me 2 input channels dry or wet, as long as they support long press for dimming.
Borris, tha's good to hear, but I also don't think the 2833-C4 is available anymore... I got a SR-ZG2833PAC-FOH, and it's not connecting to HE - Green power only.
There's also the battery-powered Hue Wall Switch Module, for which there is a driver... But it will only detect that an input has been made, nothing else. Don't know if it's the module or the driver.
i would write drivers for these if i could get my hands on any of them. The ubisys is out as it's likely using manufacturer specific clusters for control 4 systems.
the insta and gewiss are less than optimal as they are 240 only.
That leaves the bega.
Ah, depressing... The Shelly I3 perhaps? Not a Zigbee solution though.
I just ordered one of these, as I understand there's a driver for Wizer LK Fuga Zigbee.
It's battery-driven, but that could be solved...
If I get a Bega (expensive buggers, though!) what address should I send it to?
most of there stuff you have to get direct as they sell it to company's as different devices. So its still available to my knowledge but that part code would only be if you contacted them.
I suspect for example that ledvance one is the same one, just branded differently.
