So my brother recently got a hubitat C7 hub and has Sonos speakers, I had no issues discovering mine but for some reason his integration will not discover them. Any ideas on what steps he should do to get them integrated.
Can he provide details of his network setup? Does his router route multicast between wired and wireless segments of the LAN?
Tbh I’m not really sure what multicast means lol. All he can tell me is it’s a TP-Link router. Btw I see you’re from Louisiana. Geaux Tigers!!!!!
Any idea where we could start the troubleshooting?
We really need details on your brother’s network setup.
- What model router, switch etc?
- How is the hub connected to his router?
- How are the speakers connected?
- What model speakers?
- How are IP addresses assigned?
- Are there DHCP reservations for the hub and speaker?
- What’s router’s IP address?
- What is the subnetwork mask?
- What’s the hub’s IP address?
- What about the speakers?
Ok subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. His hub IP is 192.168.0.xxx and his Sonos speakers are 192.168.4.xxx. Odd they have a different network address. We may be getting somewhere.
This is the issue. To resolve it, we really need a detailed description of his network - can you pleas ask him to answer the questions I posted earlier.
The hub is connected via Ethernet to the network, obviously the speakers are connected via Wi-Fi to the network. He has two Sonos Ones and a Sonos Arc. The IP addresses are assigned via DHCP and I can almost guarantee he has no IP reservations.
He also has a TP-Link modem/router that goes to his EERO router so I think he may be using two different networks lol
