If a track is playing, I can't use the HE Device page to pause it. If I want to play one of my Sonos Favorites, I can't.
I don't know what to do. Thinking about completely removing the Sonos integration and reinstalling but that will break a lot of rules (that aren't working anyway)?
You could always do a backup and try removing and re-installing the Sonos integration. If it works, you have the choice to update your rules or go back and restore your backup if it doesn’t.
As for your rules, you should consider backing them up individually (or together) and restring them after you re-installed the Sonos integration. You will be prompted for the device when restoring them, so can easily associate them to the newly created device(s).
I just tested my SONOS and automations and pausing resuming from HE (even though I initiated from SONOS) and everything appears to be working fine. I am on the newest version of HE and I haven't noticed anything with SONOS in a very long time. Wondering if it could be something specific to your system/setup. I have a 9 room setup and from what I can tell everything is working fine.
Removing and reinstalling the Sonos Integration appears to resolved the issue. Also, the Device Labels I created appear to have been retained, which is great.
I haven't checked to see how/if my Rules were affected.
Check if you have static ip assigned to Sonos on your DHCP. If not, the fix (reinstalling Sonos integration/rediscovering Sonos devices) will work only until the speaker gets new ip (router restart). On speaker ip change, the integration will stop working again.
Removing and reinstalling Sonos resulted in Broken Action in every Rule that used it
It would be nice if the UI retained the Action and just set the device to null instead of losing all info about the Action and listing it as Broken.
e.g. if I had an Action that spoke a phrase on a Sonos device and that device was deleted, it would be useful if the Action remained but without a device selected. I could then just go in and assign a replacement device.
Yea, that’s where backing up the rule and re-installing it will come in handy.
You can do a backup of your current setup, restore a backup from a previous backup, save the rules, then re-load them once you restored the backup of the current setup.
Loading them back will allow you to select the new Sonos device(s).
