Anyone have one of these, or know if it can be controlled via hubitat? I'd love to be able to automate some led lights etc that are powered via a usb port...
I have a couple of these for LED lights. I have them connected to Home Assistant and I'm using Home Assistant Device Bridge to get them into Hubitat.
They work great. It would be nice if someone smart was able to connect them directly to Hubitat.
I have a couple and there is another thread about them. Anyways, no direct integration. If you could flash with Tasmota you could, but these do not seem to be one that can be flashed.
Darn. I do have a homeassistant instance running on a pi, but I started playing with it at one point and then never went anywhere. I'd hate to add that dependency into the mix.
I couldn't flash that device with Tasmota. Anyway I bought the item below in Aug2022 and I was able to flash with Tasmota. I use them to cut power to my HE when necessary. I don't know if the current version shipping is still able to be flashed, but it's worth a shot for 4.80 USD. Some guy commented in Jan 2023 that he was able to flash and considering the quantity available is almost 100,000 you likely should get the same flashable version
PS- the 100 watt power rating is probably bullcrap and I wouldn't push it
I did the samething, ordering this device from AliExpress and was able to flash it with Tasmota. I did it mainly as an experiment, and haven't used this device for any long term application. Cheap enough to test out!
Yeah, can't really add it to HE to power off the hub, as it won't be accessible to turn it back on, since the hub will be off. I just bookmark the IP address of the USB switch and control it from there. Tasmota loads instantly on the LAN
