I have a Somfy motor installed in the balcony motorised shade.
This is controlled by a remote control : Smoove Origin RTS Somfy Remote ( European system )
I want to operate the shade as a Z Wave device by adding it to the Hubitat.
I have already downloaded and installed the following two drivers posted in this forum -
Somfy ZRTSII Controller
Somfy ZRTSII Node
In order for these drivers to work ( or maybe there is another suggestion ) do I need to add the shade motor ( installed inside the roller mechanism ) into HE? And if so, how do I do that?
Or do I need to add the existing RTS Remote control into Hubitat? And if so how do I proceed?
Do you have a zwave controller for the blinds? A number of people in the US buy a zwave to rts adaptor that then provides this zwave option. If you only have an rts remote, apart from the zrtsi interface, you may be able to look at a Bond Bridge hub like I have. There is a community developed driver for Bond.
I only have an RTS Remote controller at present and was hoping somehow these drivers will make it work with Hubitat.
We do get Zwave to RTS adapter here and I think I will try to obtain that.
I will also check out the Bond bridge hub as per your suggestion......thanks for this info
Check the Z-Wave frequency carefully. I don’t believe that the Somfy ZRTSI 2 controller (Z-Wave to RTS, #1811265), which I have to interface to Hubitat, comes in any Z-Wave frequency other than the US frequency. I also have the Somfy myLink controller, which has an integration with Alexa.
I use Justin Walker’s ZRTSI community driver because it can send the “my position” command.
There are also some (search these forums) who have used a different approach, namely, using a ZEN16 MultiRelay with wires soldered to the buttons on a Somfy RTS remote (Telis or similar). Of course, if you took that approach, you would need a Zigbee or EU frequency Z-Wave MultiRelay device.
Edit: yep, ZRTSI is US frequency only. From the spec:
Frequency: Z-Wave 908 MHz; RTS 433.42 MHz
You are probably right as I have European Z Wave which is 868 MHz.
Incidentally my RTS controller also states 868 MHz. But there may be some fractional differences.
I may try one of these solutions :-
Buy a ZTS to Z Wave converter provided by Somfy Europe themselves
or
Try the multi relay approach as per your suggestion. Appears a better solution for me...
Will update later....
